The Southern Pride 4-H Club

On December 6th, 2011 the Southern Pride 4-H club held their meeting. President Kalee Anderson called the meeting to order. The American Pledge was lead by Katie Anderson and Keith Anderson lead the 4-h pledge. Roll call was taken by Jr. Secretary, Mikara Anderson. Secretary, Lily Yohn gave the secretary report. Keith Anderson and Garret Cramer gave the treasurers report. Raven Booher, Jr. Vice President, presented the fundraisers trophy to Xavier and Hayden Wright. Vice President introduced Special guest, Tami Smith. Tami spoke to the club about the care of a dairy beef. Everyone brought in canned food items which Steve Scott took to the food bank. Under old business, the endowment balance was paid in full. Tammy Maslanik, and Wayne and Carrie Anderson attended quality assurance training in November for livestock leaders. Training for all members doing livestock projects will begin in January. Congratulations to Hannah Parsons and Keith Anderson for winning outstanding 4-H awards at a county level. Several teens visited all four elementary schools on November 14th . Under new business, discussion about taking family living project to the Farm Show. Sign up sheets for 2012 projects for the fair where available, all members were to sign up so that project books can be ordered. Kalee and Mikara Anderson, and Katie and Keith Anderson talked to the club about various projects they took to Johnson Hall. Recreational Leader Bower Sara showed the club how to make an origami Christmas tree out of a magazine, all members made a Origami tree out of recycled magazines. Kalee Anderson then adjourned the meeting. Snack was provided my all members who brought Christmas cookies. The next meeting will be held January 3rd, 2012. Submitted By: Lily Yohn
