SOUTHERN PRIDE 4-H CLUB TOP SELLER FOR 2011 FUNDRAISER

During the Southern Pride 4-H meeting on December 6, 2011 members Xavier and Hayden Wright were awarded a trophy for selling the most ham sandwiches. They sold 95 sandwiches. Great job guys! Submitted by Kaley Booher – News Reporter

The Southern Pride 4-H Club

On December 6th, 2011 the Southern Pride 4-H club held their meeting. President Kalee Anderson called the meeting to order. The American Pledge was lead by Katie Anderson and Keith Anderson lead the 4-h pledge. Roll call was taken by Jr. Secretary, Mikara Anderson. Secretary, Lily Yohn gave the secretary report. Keith Anderson and Garret Cramer gave the treasurers report. Raven Booher, Jr. Vice President, presented the fundraisers trophy to Xavier and Hayden Wright. Vice President introduced Special guest, Tami Smith. Tami spoke to the club about the care of a dairy beef. Everyone brought in canned food items which Steve Scott took to the food bank. Under old business, the endowment balance was paid in full. Tammy Maslanik, and Wayne and Carrie Anderson attended quality assurance training in November for livestock leaders. Training for all members doing livestock projects will begin in January. Congratulations to Hannah Parsons and Keith Anderson for winning outstanding 4-H awards at a county level. Several teens visited all four elementary schools on November 14th . Under new business, discussion about taking family living project to the Farm Show. Sign up sheets for 2012 projects for the fair where available, all members were to sign up so that project books can be ordered. Kalee and Mikara Anderson, and Katie and Keith Anderson talked to the club about various projects they took to Johnson Hall. Recreational Leader Bower Sara showed the club how to make an origami Christmas tree out of a magazine, all members made a Origami tree out of recycled magazines. Kalee Anderson then adjourned the meeting. Snack was provided my all members who brought Christmas cookies. The next meeting will be held January 3rd, 2012. Submitted By: Lily Yohn

Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club

Bottom row L-R: Jaymee Heeter, Cora Waite, Rylan Boone, Jeremy Hamman, and Bruin Waite A regular Monthly meeting for the Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club was held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Cassville. Club members turned in completed project record books and officer books. A committee was formed to discuss float options for the local Halloween parades to be held in October. Committee members will meet on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at T&T's Restaurant in Three Springs, starting at 1:45 pm. Each committee members is asked to present a theme idea for the 4-H Halloween float. Continuing the clubs devotion to community Service, members will help the Trough Creek Valley Fire Company serve meals during the October Fest at the Lion's Community Building on September 24 and 25, 2011. The next 4-H Alpaca Club meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 8 at the Mt. Terrace Alpaca Farm, starting at 11:00 am. The next regular meeting for the Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club is scheduled for Monday, October 10 at the United Methodist Church in Cassville, PA starting at 6:30 pm. This will be the start of the 2011-2012 project year and officer nominations will be conducted. New members are welcome to join in the fun. Submitted by: Bruin Waite, News Reporter

SOUTHERN PRIDE DISPLAYS CHRISTMAS TREE
The Southern Pride club officers met at the Three Springs Ambulance Building on Saturday November 26 to put together and decorate a Christmas tree. The tree was white with green ornaments. The ornaments were hand made by various club members. Ornaments were felt hats and mittens, ceramics apples and clovers, and quilted hearts. The theme of the Christmas tree was “Head, Hands, Heart and Health”. With help from the officers, parents, and friends the club put together the tree in less than one hour.
