Trough Creek 4-H Club


Members of the Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club gave a presentation at the Trough Creek Valley Elementary School on Monday, March 14, 2011 for PA State 4-H Week. Members demonstrated a mock meeting and sang a camp song that all school student participated in. Members and leaders then stationed six learning labs, that school students visited in small groups.

Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club

Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club


The Trough Creek Community Adventurers 4-H Club held a meeting at the United Methodist Church in Cassville on February 14, 2011. The meeting was called to order by club president Cora Waite. A workshop on market beef and goat was instructed by club leader Jodi Cresswell. A club family fun night is scheduled for Saturday, February 26 at Holiday Bowl from 8-10 pm. E-data registration deadline is April 1, 2011. Members gave a report on the first Alpaca club meeting held on Saturday, February 12 at the Terrace Mountain Alpaca Farm. PA State 4-H week is March 13-19, 2001. Club members formed a committee of members interested in going to the Trough Creek Elementary School on Monday, March 14, 2011 to promote 4-H week. A motion was made and approved to submit the next payment to the 4-H endowment fund. 4-H survey papers were completed club members present at the meeting. The 4-H county wide ham and cheese sale papers were given to club members. A project education will be held on Sunday, February 20 from 2-4 pm. Beef project education will be review at this meeting. The next Alpaca Club meeting will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Terrace Mountain Alpaca Farm at 11 am. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 12 at the United Methodist Church in Cassville, starting at 6:30 pm. Submitted by: Bruin Waite

Pork Pizzazz 4-H Club


On March 23, 2011 the Pork Pizzazz 4-H Club hed their 1st meeting of the year. The American Pledge was led by Chely Miller and the 4-H Pledge was led by Halee Smith. We discussed strawberry fundraisers. They are $11.00 a bundle at the Extension Office. Ham and Cheese pick up will be March 30th. We also discussed three different pig sales: Dice, Centre County and Bards. The club decided on buying a different color show shirt. The club chose the color light blue. We elected officers: President Kelsey Dysard; Vice President Austin Harnish; Secretary/Treasurer Chely Miller and News Reporters William and Brooke Emery. Meeting was adjourned by Austin Harnish and seconded by Chely Miller. The next meeting will be April 27th at 7 p.m. at the Extension Office.
