Huntingdon/Blair County 4-H County Council

The Huntingdon and Blair County 4-H County Council club met on December 3rd at the Extension Office in Huntingdon. Vice President Logan Detwiler called this meeting to order. Layne Reihart gave the secretary's report. We then were given the treasurer's report. We talked about our upcoming sandwich sale. We will be selling Sweet Bologna, Turkey and Ham Sandwiches. We discussed what countywide fundraisers we will be doing and decided to sell Joe Corbi's Pizza and Cookie Dough, Gardner's Peanut Butter Meltaways and Country Creations Candles. There was a a note that there will not be a Wal-Mart figt card reward for selling this year. Instead the items you sell will help pay the Educational Materials Fee and insurance fee. We talked about our upcoming trip to Wharton County, Texas. Our date is set for June 28th - July 3rd. We handed in all of our cookie order forms. We set the date to make all the cookies and that date was December 14th at 5:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. We decided that we will be having a County Council Social after making all the cookie orders. We would like to thank everyone who bought cookies to help send us down on the 4-H Texas Exchange trip. We talked about the 4-H State Leadership Conference at PSU on January 29th - January 31st. Then we gave out a paper about the upcoming Central Region 4-H Teen Retreat on March 19 - 21st. We were reminded that registation for 4-H this year is online. Go to the following website to register: www.huntingdon.extension.psu.edu and click the e-data link on the lower left hand column. The news reports and upcoming events will also be on the 4-H Blog which is www.huntingdoncounty4h.blogspot.com.
