Southern Pride 4-H Club

The Southern Pride 4-H Club held their regular monthly meeting December 1st at 6:30 p.m. at the Community State Bank of Orbisonia. President Libby Sarra called the meeting to order. Keith Anderson and Mason Hart led the pledges. Secretary Katie Anderson took roll call and read the secretary report. Leader Shannon Cramer updated the club on totals for the fundraisers and treasurer's report. Under old business, the club won 1st place at the Mount Union parade winning $300.00 in the float category. Leaders Shannon and Lori Cramer and Hunter and Heather Hart were thanked for their leadership and hard work with the float. The ham sandwich fundraiser went well. Thank you to Shannon Cramer for organizing the fundraiser and a big thank you to all of the members who came and made the sandwiches. Under new business the club voted to attend the Harrisburg Farm Show in January. Kevin Detwiler was aksed to drive a bus to the farm show. The club will get a total number to attend and get back to Kevin about transportation. Election of officers were held. The new 2010 club officers are Libby Sarra - President; Camden Woodward - Vice President; Keith Anderson - Treasurer; Liz Scott - Secretary; Mykeshia Goshorn - News Reporter; Derrick Cramer - Song and Game Leader; and Michaela Gartlant - Historian. After election, Tate and Beth Robison led the club in a fleece blanket project. The blankets will be given to the Children's Ward at J.C. Blair Memorial Hopsital. Members were able to complete 13 blankets. After the meeting the club enjoyed a snack of Christmas cookies and milk. The next meeting will be held Januayr 5th, 6:30 p.m. at the Community State Bank of Orbisonia.
