Spring Farms Livestock 4-H Club

The Spring Farms 4-H Livestock Club's monthly meeting was held at the Community State Bank of Orbisonia on April 13, 2010. Vice President Katie Morgan called the meeting to order. Jasmine Morgan led the American pledge and Katie Morgan led the 4-H Pledge. Bryant Wible gave the treasurer's report and Michael Morgan gave the secretary's report. Under old business leader Pam Morgan asked if everyone enjoyed bowling. For our club community service project we will be going to the Humane Society on April 17th to give them the items that we collected. Ask members how their animals are doing? Under new business we talked about tag day on May 1st from 9 am until noon at the fairgrounds. Then, we made rope halters. Terri Grissinger will be at our next meeting. She will be doing the Quality Assurance and Ethics Training. The next meeting is May 11 at 7 p.m. at the Community State Bank of Orbisonia. Dalton Williams made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Bryant Wible seconded the motion. We then had refreshments brought by Dylan Adnerson and Bryant Wible. Next meeting refreshments will be brought by Dalton Williams and Jasmine Morgan.

Shirley Variety Pak

On April 6, 2010, Valerie Coleman called the meeting to order. Kody Harshbarger led us in the American Pledge. The 4-H pledge was stared by SHayla Benson. In new business, May 1st is tag day for dairy beef, goat, pig and rabbit. We made baskets at the Shirley Home for our community service projects. Residents and the club enjoyed it very much. Everyone had a wonderful time. For our annual picnic, we are thinking of about either skating or tubing. Our new fundraiser will be for the Side Street Cafe selling ham and cheese hoagies and subs. We also may have a raffle. We are promotion 4-H at the Bean Soup Festival in McClure in September. Open youth and dairy entry forms need to be filled out and sent in with a copy of registration paper. Where will these papers be? In the back of the catalog the 4-H members will be receiving. The meeting was adjourned by Kendra Semple and Valerie Coleman seconded the motion.

Zach McKeehan led us in the 4-H Pledge. The American Pledge was led by Gavi Walker. We talked about having another fundraiser but we decided to discuss the details at the next meeting. We had so much fun at the Shirley Home for our last community service project, that we are thinking of doing it again. Our 4-H picnic this year will be held in July. the perfect month to have a picnic don't you think? Clean up is going to be held July 31st. On September 18, we are showing other kids the joy of being in 4-H at the McClure Bean Soup Festival. Our group is so excited to do this because everyone knows the thrill of when they first partidpated in a show and joined a club who enjoyed the same things they do. I know I would like nothing more than to help another kid feel the same feeling I had when I first joined. Who knows, maybe people who are not thinking about it will be inspired and join. Anyway, we have decided to have soup sale in the fall. When the meeting ended, Gavi adjourned the meeting and Kody Harshberger seconded it.
